Networks that enlarge our Scientific Impact
BecA-ILRI Hub has access to international research institutions within and outside CGIAR centres, positioning it to build networks that contribute to the increased impact of biosciences on agricultural research in Africa. Existing opportunities leverage cooperation among biosciences networks in sub-regions, utilising high-end facilities serving networks and regional programmes across the continent. Through visiting scientists, communities of practice are formed around key food and nutritional security issues. Alumni scientists returning to home institutions continue joint research and deliver innovations — making each fellowship an enduring node in a growing continental network.

BecA-ILRI Hub is embedded within the global CGIAR research network, connecting Africa's bioscience community to world-leading research centres, shared knowledge platforms and international funding streams.
Sub-regional African Networks
High-end facilities at BecA serve as a continental resource, supporting research networks and regional programmes. Sub-regional networks access genomics platforms, bioinformatics infrastructure and scientific expertise.
Communities of Practice
Around each major food and nutritional security challenge, BecA convenes Communities of Practice — ongoing scientific forums where researchers, practitioners and policymakers co-develop knowledge and solutions.
Alumni & Visiting Scientists
Fellows and visiting scientists trained at BecA return to home institutions carrying advanced capabilities. Many continue joint research, deliver innovations in-country and serve as BecA network anchors across Africa.
